In 2015, I retired after teaching for 46 years. I taught middle school and high school for sixteen years, including time in Memphis, Tennessee, and 30 years of teaching photography at Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA. I received my BA in Art Education from the University of Mississippi (Oxford), a Masters of Arts in Teaching and a Masters of Fine Arts in Studio Art, Photography and Printmaking from the University of Memphis.
After I graduated from Ole Miss, I was lucky and found my first job at Kingsbury High School in Memphis, the following school year. I would teach during the day and work on my Masters in Art Education at night. I loved both teaching and continuing my education so when I completed my Masters degree, I enrolled in a photography class at University of Memphis.
Teaching helped me define myself as an artist and a human being.
