These photos were taken on my trip through southern India.
I hardly ever take pictures of people and especially not their faces. Strangely, also when I draw I usually leave the faces blank.
This was a bit different on my trip to India. Here I enjoyed looking at these interesting and so different faces!
All these portraits are made from a “safe” distance and therefore are rather documentary style than staged portraits. Even the portraits where it’s obvious that the people looked at me were made very fast so that they didn’t have time to think about how they looked or if they should smile.
