PRAYER

Prayer is private. Yet it is much a public activity in Asia, where people commonly pray outside temples and at public festivals like Vesak (Buddhist) and Thaipusam (Hindu). In the spirit of privacy, however, these portraits are anonymous or semi-anonymous, with at most part of the subject's face revealed.
