Sandgren´s methods are experimental and immersive, calling for closeness, warmth and seeing with all senses - with fingertips. Influenced by Julia Kristeva´s ideas: we are strangers to ourselves, she´s drawn to one´s inner geographies as well as the interconnectedness of all.
In her work Fluid Being she seeks to understand the state of things in nature. By using the photographic process and her body, she creates a dialogue with familiar garden space. The record of a slow performance is a "photogenic drawing* on a light sensitive paper from 1970s, created by sun and her breathing, fluids like saliva, sweat and tears as well as the seasonal weather. Thereby creating an evidence of being and becoming in space and time.
