Water as an experience, in the summer sun, in the summer rain.
I am born in summer and I imagine it to have been a warm and sunny day. Strawberries, cherries and ice cream waiting just for you, with the real hot times just about to come. Summer today is my favorite season, the season of joy and laughter, time to celebrate with friends and family and to re-live childhood rituals. Going swimming, enjoying the cool sensuality of the water was for us the core ritual. Bright sunny summers have always been a source of joy and happiness for me. These are times were one can smell the warmth of the earth and sense each breeze on the skin. As kids, going swimming was the best – blue shiny water, a cool dip, fun games – promise of happiness and its instant fulfillment. Summer rain has always been poetry time for me – sometimes it felt like an exotic monsoon shower, sometimes just a soft and warm dripple, sometimes a real cool downer. This series was shot during a mellow, warm and soft rain that all things in mist and haze, it kept the summer mood but added a melancholic twist to it. Just as if summer was slowly melting away.
