This work tells us of a Memorial, The Memorial Enrico Mattei, that was build in 1963 to commemorate the killing of the president of ENI company in 1962.
I went there several times to collect photos, moving images and sounds with the intention to report the daily life of a place built to commemorate an interruptive and extraordinary expression of power that, subverting Italian political order, created a new habitus and therefore different ways to perceive and lead daily life.
Being at the Memorial and recording the life in it is the metaphor to make the investigation revive, working at the installation and making a book are acts whose goal is to prevent this outburst from falling into oblivion.
The work is composed by images and texts that I made and wrote and images and texts that I found on the web. Prints sometimes were implemented with some notes and signs. The Mattei's affair is one of the main topics in Pasolini uncompleted book Petrolio.
From Petrolio I assumed Pasolini decision of “ not to write a story, but to build a form”, a form-project, a work in a potential state, a series of notes for a book.
