Celestial mechanics
Project info

This is the story of Jacques and Marion Granges. A couple of farmers and growers, living to 890 meters in Switzerland. Jacques agronomist engineer and Marion
The gardener cultivate their land biodynamic agriculture that relies on
two pillars. The first is the use of vegetable, mineral substances and
animal that stimulate growth, the second is the use of forces and cycles
cosmic and attention to lunar cycles, the influence of
stars and rhythm of nature.

The very nature they have placed in the heart of their concerns since
1970 and that has made them an unusual couple living with the seasons. On
heights of their field named "Beudon" detached from the civilization but not without being disconnected, they observe distant agitation the world and maintain their land as their greatest asset.

In my series Celestial mechanics, I suggest a look at this mysterious planet
where nature found power over man. Facilities for the use of biodynamic arise such visual intrigue: a "Shifters box" looks like a golden cage, grass of the vine leaves then reflect the footsteps of an invisible presence, the heating system turns into a rocket ready to fly.
Photographs play with materials, lights, objects seen during my visits akin
to cosmic explorations in the heart of Valais. Jacques and Marion,
both magicians Beudon not only able to link science and conscience
but also revive the lost slowness of our society, if this slowness
good giving way to the rhythm of life, in the wind, in the shadow of night,
a new temporality beyond the passing of time and leaving room
all that lives, naturally.
