Brazil, the Representation of the Resistance
Project info

The protests in Brazil in 2013 were several popular demonstrations, initially organized to protest against increases in bus, train, and metro ticket prices in some Brazilian cities, but grew to include other issues such as the high corruption in the government and police brutality used against some demonstrators.

Initially restricted to a few thousand participants, acts of reducing public transport passages gained widespread popular support in mid-June, especially after heavy police crackdown on demonstrators

Demonstrations in Brazil followed the same process of "viral propagation" of protests in other countries, such as the Arab Spring in the Arab world, Occupy Wall St in the United States, and Los Indignados in Spain.
