Operation Queer

On Friday, July 8, 2016, Fredman Barahona and Guillermo Saenz of Operation Queer, along with 2boys.tv (Stephen Lawson and Aaron Pollard) and Alexis O'Hara from Montreal and students from Managua's art school, Espira Espora, performed "Tightrope" in Granada, Nicaragua's Casa de Tres Mundos...a performance barely balanced between chaos and order, bravely celebrating queer identity in Nicaragua. Leading up to the performance, the artists were sequestered for hours and hours, undertaking the transformation from chrysalis to wings, revealing, unmasking their queerness layer by layer. The artists were mesmerized by their own image, never straying far from mirrors, as if waiting, watching patiently at every step, for their own rebirth.
