Beyond the Wall: a short Portrait of Mexico who lives

In November 2016 US President Donald Trump said he wanted to build a 3,200-kilometer-long wall at the Mexican border. The border is a"topos" of the human history, a virtual line that defines a separation between peoples, which accentuates differences, which increases the sense of superiority of those who are unable to look beyond themselves. The wall is a barrier, a source of blindness. Someone might be surprised to discover that beyond the wall there is nothing but life. In this perspective, the photographic project has the target- through a series of images shoot in the streets of Mexico in February 2017 - to highlight the existential normality of populations that, with extreme dignity, often live in discomfort. Diversities that are nothing other than a different face of the same coin: humanity. There is nothing to stigmatize or isolate, but there is much to understand and perhaps to learn.
