Space Possibilities

Space is an envelope. Architecture has the purpose of being inhabited and it changes our lives whether we are conscious of that or not. My work is a continuous exploration of that envelope. My photos are an ongoing project, one long series trying to put into images my feelings about the space I find myself in. The thought of humans relating to a built environment has influenced my photography and fascinated me for years. The perception of space changes with the people who fill it. Removing people from architectural environments erases the primary purpose of the space itself and forces us to consider it for what it is: a mere conglomerate of matter. A mass of concrete, wood and glass pasted together to create shelter, to house thoughts and ideas or simply to be an artistic expression. Different cities create different emotional reactions based on the buildings they are made of and it is my aim to create a new reality based on the emotions I receive and the ones that I filter and scramble up through a medium that is said to be ‘objective’. I firmly believe that Photography is not an objective medium, it is instead highly influenced by a photographer’s vision and sentiment.
