Mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2006. My parents moved from New York City to Zhuhai, China in 2010 to access affordable 24/7 care. I wanted to document what a typical day was like for my parents coping with this disease. The black and white images, taken in 2014, depict my Mom while she was able to retain some autonomy. In the color image, taken in 2017, my Mom can no longer walk and can barely keep her head upright. Every physical task now requires the help of her caretaker. I started this series as a way to emotionally cope with watching my parents age.
