The salt carawan in the Danakil Depression

These photos were shot four weeks ago on a trip to Ethiopia, Somaliland and Somalia. The salt carawans are struggling for their income since the salt is not paying much anymore. They work in temperatures of 60 degrees at daytime without any shades. Every day the walk with their camels about 10 kms to the dry salt lake to cut out the salt pans.
