“Sometimes people are beautiful.
Not in looks.
Not in what they say.
Just in what they are.”
― Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger
It does not matter why people come to my studio.
In the end, everyone ends up naked. I enjoy their confidence, courage and the intimacy they offer me under a session.
And I think I know why.
Beauty for me does not come from virtue nor is it a privilege or an advantage. It is not expressed...features, nor a perfect figure or an ideal weight.
The beauty in my studio is appreciated by the history of my models, how they have faced life in the most beautiful and horrible moments: achievement, happiness, calm, blessing, defeat, suffering, struggle, loss, and the path they chose to overcome everything and get ahead again.
Our beauty materializes when the stories we carry under the skin are revealed and betray the fear that prevents us from connecting with others and showing us as we really are. Only then can we really look beautiful. And by then, we are also completely naked in the eyes of ours.
