The last stop of my journey through Ethiopia on the last January was Awasa. It is a town located 285 Km south of Addis Abeba and is the capital of the Southern Nations of Ethiopia. It is being supported at high level by Chinese investors and growing very fast, but still fishing in the Awasa Lake is the major local industry.
I had the chance to visit the place where the fishermen start their fishing boat trips to the lake and where they arrive after their work. At the shore, the buyers check the quality of the fish directly in the just arrived boats, and the fishermen clean and prepare the fish for sale.
They supply all the restaurants serving raw fresh fish around. The demand is high and the level of activity as well. I felt inmediately engaged in what was happening there. Men, kids and marabous acting in the same bursting play. Nevertheless, I have to wait for a while until they got used to the fact of having a girl wearing tight jeans and a camera walking around.
The local guide and the driver went to one of the restaurants in the nearby. My camera and myself were ready. It was my time to take photographs.
