The idea for "Lost Rooms" is the continuation and completion of the "Secrets of the woods" project. I developed and implemented this project last year. Even 30 to 50 years ago the landscape above Lake Maggiore was dominated by viticulture, fruit and vegetable cultivation. The steep slopes were terraced and the houses were inhabited. Today, a few decades later, the fast-growing forest has recaptured the cultural landscape within a short time. Some hotels, which still were very popular around the turn of the century are exposed to decay. As you walk through the often impassable landscape you can feel the aura of the past in many places and in the abandoned houses and hotels. My question was: What stories and secrets can the rooms tell in the often dilapidated buildings?
