Renaissance Collection: from painted fashion to fashion photography
Project info

Renaissance Collection: from painted fashion to fashion photography is a photographic serie, that offers a singular exploration around “painted fashion” in the Renaissance. It starts with the mise-en-scene of different Renassaince portraits; they are then recorded photographically.
Design and tailoring of the clothes in each picture is made with alternative non-textile materials (sanitary masks, mosquito nets, wires, bicycle tyres, etc.) Models, dressed with these clothes, adopt classical posing that refers to chosen paintings. The photographer interprets them from a contemporary gaze.
This serie is fruit of an academic Project, developed by teachers and pupils of diverse disciplines at the ESDIR, Higher Education College of Art and Design in La Rioja, Spain. In ESDIR, a public Center, higher artistic teaching is developed in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product and Fashion.
