This series of pictures show one of the last Turkish baths remaining in the city of Cairo. Some were built by the Mamelukes more than 500 years ago. On about fifteen hammams listed in Cairo, there is 4 or 5 still used, as the hammam « Margush » situated at the heart of the souk Khan el Khalili. Colors and ligth reigning in the hammam are shown without post-treatment. The fuzziness of some pictures results from the contact of the vapor with the lens of the camera.
The last Turkish baths of Cairo seem to cross the time and escape the globalization, but how long still ?
