The Kunizakaï (Japanese for thresholds, limits or borders) by Régis Feugère are solitary and silent, such as his French landscapes or his portraits of young European pupils at the margins of adulthood. The present series constitutes a nocturnal exploration of the confines of our agglomerations, obscure limits we trespass with apprehension. Going ahead and taking your chances requires leaving certitudes behind but provides hope that the unknown will add a new dimension to your existence. Repelling, the obscurity rises like an obstacle. Streets are empty, façades blank and vegetation quite strange. The present is suspended, as uncertain as the future and ready to topple at any moment.?Christine De Naeyer
