Increasingly, taking a photo is about a pilgrimage to a place that has been seen before, photographed to death and in many ways and lacks the element of surprise. As a counter point to this, I have digitally abstracted photos I have taken from locations that have meant something to me personally when I was there. The results are echoes of the landscape as swathes of colour and form, so the viewer can respond anew without the preconception of expectation that goes with the name of a place...
