All Women’s Conference ashram. White is considered a “non colour”, symbol of nullity. For these reason it’s the colour imposed to the widows.

All Women’s Conference ashram (Taraash Mandir). Facilities are often critical and without maintenance. The widow have only a white saree and their hair is shaved to testify that they no longer have the right to be desired.

Prayer is one of the few activities during the day.  A woman of indefinite age, joins hands in prayer by listening the Bhajan (the sacred songs)

Female children, sometimes, are kicked out from their houses with their young mothers for not paying the dowry.

The question of widows is a transversal phenomenon for Hindu culture, which invests every social class without gender prejudice. young males have to be educated as well as women, in develping a society of equal rights
