COMMEMORATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
This series of photographs is a comment about commemorative photography. The use of this kind of photos is to remember a place where we have been and the persons that we were together. But in our days we take so many and most of them we don’t even look them a second time. We just save them in the digital “world” . The result is the contrast between our photographic act and the purpose of it.
In this series the place and the faces are non recognizable. An image blur and indefinable. Something like our dreams. Like the images that our week memory keeps after many years. Something between dream and reality. Between “remember” and “ i am not sure that i remember”. No details.
One of the biggest advantages of photography is all these details that we can “trap” for eternity . Details so rich which sometimes on the real time we don’t even notice. Images that replace our memory, fill the gaps of this non perfect brain function. But today there is the possibility of losing our “memory”(as easy as we lose a digital file).
Here we have something that left in the “hard disc” of our mind and not that descriptive image that we save in a digital file or in our photographic film....
