The interior decoration of the Greek household is governed by a series of stereotypical choices. Among them are the objects in which the family has moved personal stimuli to a degree that on these objects the family can identify itself. These sets show such dynamism and rigor in their layout that they cause the opposite effect. The composition of objects, a small-scale table arrangement of objects as a ritual, draws its material from certain categories, while giving the space the aura of a museum, outside of which it is unthinkable to exist.
The project Familiar Interiors attempts, with similar devotion through classifying, to photograph this important family ritual in an attempt to document, study and accept it.
