Walking Home
Project info

Walking Home is a time-lapse portrait of a forgotten town nestled within the forested hills and valley's of America's once mighty industrial heartland. Returning to his hometown over the past twenty five years by train or bus, Ed Panar walks various paths to visit his childhood home and observes the scene along the way, paying particular attention to the ever changing relationship between the landscape and architecture. The quiet stillness of a place seemingly frozen in time is seeped with the intimate knowledge of a local guide who takes us along winding paths and back streets of meditative reflection. Recurring locations, undercurrents of melancholy and dark humor are punctuated with moments of crisp beauty captured from the ongoing seasonal cycles of the ancient Allegheny Mountains and changing fortunes of the American landscape.
