Kane St. 2016
During the year of 2016, one extended family formed the nexus of most activity on Kane St. in Houston's old 6th ward neighborhood. As a whole they owned, worked, or lived in, separately or together, six properties in a six block area. The doors were generally open to outsiders and friends. Others moved in and out throughout the year. This open door policy created a broader, loose-knit family of children and adults who spent their weekends at one of the houses to escape the Houston heat, escape the crowded and fast-paced freeways, or use the family's spaces as their own home-base.
