UNEMPLOYED BAMBOO CRAFTSMAN

Jingqing Tian has been crafting with bamboo to make a living for more than 40 years, but in recent years, he became unemployed because people prefer plastic goods to bamboo crafting. “A large size bamboo “Coolie” hat used to be a necessity for every family because everybody needs a bamboo coolie hat to work during rainy weather; but not anymore." Tian says, "bamboo crafts are at risk of fading away in the next few years.
