Solo exhibition The Shaping Aug 2017

My work explores the link I feel towards my mother through my daughters, I have two red headed girls and my mum was one of two red headed daughters. I have been exploring the thinness of the veil separating the living from the dead using plaster casts of faces, my own, my sister, one of my daughters and my partner. With these I have created tissue paper masks and three bodies of work. Lastly I made two sets of wings, one black and one white out of the tissue paper masks. I photographed my daughters with them and call this series “Genetic Inheritance” some of what we inherit lifts us up, some does not.
