This work is a personal point of view about Sardinian traditional masks. These masks has their origins in pre-Christian rituals that date back to the ancient agro-pastoral societies in which it was celebrated the end of winter dancing around bonfires, eating and tasting the young wine. This photographic project conveys more than just the simple effect of the carnival rituals in which the masks are shown every year. The purpose is to show both the inner significance, the mask, and the people who wear them in a very private, mysterious, and deep sense of belonging to the tradition of my people in Sardinia.
