Wichita Mountains Book Project
Project info

I have been photographing in and around the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in southwestern Oklahoma for two years. It is a landscape full of contradictions and tensions: wildlife and nature preserve bordering the grounds of Fort Sill, sacred site for several Indian tribes and tourist attraction, natural beauty surrounded by human poverty, a mountain range rising out of the flatlands ...

The book is a collaboration with photographer and writer Don House and poet Sy Hoahwah. We are working on funding the project; in the meantime, we keep going back to photograph and write more.
