These portraits are a mix of recent and older works from around the world - and from moments close to home with friends. I'm increasingly finding myself shooting on film, both 35mm and medium format, as it puts more magic into the process and makes me forget about the fact that I work with photography on a daily basis. I've had a tendency to go for form over content, making my portraits very 'loud' and full of effects. While it's good to master effects, I feel currently much more drawn towards poetry, romance, minimalism and good lighting. My education is in classical photojournalism, which I'm doing my best to balance with a more conceptual/fine art approach.
