The title of this body of work, “Luxuria”, refers to the Latin term for self indulgent lust. Lush and overgrown, these images portray themes of desire and gluttony in an atmosphere of degradation and depravity. Wine abundantly flows in this place, a place for those who will never be satisfied. The air of ornate celebration is met with the harrowing concept of the fruitlessness of seeking fulfillment through vices. “Luxuria” is a depiction of the frantic search for fleshly pleasure in compensation for some kind of lack.
