The series "Come & Play" are portraits of children with their short-lived toys, idiosyncratic of a generation growing up in a "throw away" culture. These portraits are collodion images on glass plates to juxtapose past and present. And although the archival quality of these plates make them long-lasting images, they still retain a a certain fragility since they rest on glass. Taking photographs is widespread nowadays and it feels as if they have become mundane and disposable like a child's toy. For me it is important to give the photographic image its value and significance. Something to hold on to.
