The Collective Snapshot
From the late 1800s, with the introduction of easy-to-use hand cameras, photography became accessible to millions of people. Since then, the snapshot is the most common form of photography and has remained consistent over generations.
The Collective Snapshot project is an homage to this form of photography. Every image is made with dozens of found snapshots of the most popular tourist destinations. By blending them I create an abstraction of the places we've been and the things we've seen. A celebration of our collective memory.
