“A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.”
I live and work in New York City and teach in the Photo & Video and Graphic Design & Advertising departments at the School of Visual Arts. I’ve always had itchy feet and a propensity to stare. I used to work for a detective and I still hunt up evidence. It’s the cagey, slippery, mysterious stuff that guides my life and wanderlust as well as informs my photography in general and my Torque series (from which these images are a part) in specific.
“…I have a notion that by travel I can add to my personality and so change myself a little. I do not bring back from a journey quite the same self that I took.”
