Signs of Life
Signs of Life is a series of photographic studies taken from the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center. The city, viewed from the vantage point of the Architect or city planner is composed of tower blocks that repeat themselves endlessly, large-scale infrastructure projects and a scattering of more distinctive structures. The city is cleansed of anything old, unplanned or organic. The series raises questions about the eradication of history and the top down planning policies characteristic of contemporary urban development.
