Insects on their flight around a street lamp leave shining tracks in the night and by long exposure photography those become visible. Additional light comes from a flash in strobo mode and depicts the movement phases of the flying creatures.
All settings of the camera and the flash are in manual mode. This allows me to finely balance the warm lamp light with the cooler flash. The results are fascinating multiple exposures of those tiny little airplanes, captured exactly on their trajectories as they follow their enigmatic nocturnal choreography.
