These images/pieces are from two different series, the work is about a family (of sorts), familial DNA traced back to single source. It’s about where we come from and what made us.
It is also a statement on human interaction, which is why I chose these particular images out of all the orphaned snapshots I have collected. Within my work over the last seven years I have focused on family, my own as well as strangers that I have found in discarded albums. “Stitched Together” is truly a metaphor for reconnection of those lost families, the would be end of the line for that particular strand of DNA. I wanted the viewer to questions his or her own memory, its fragility and tedious truth.
