After visiting the Edinburgh castle during the height of the summer period, I noticed that there were all sorts of characters visiting it beautiful majesty, tourists from all over came to visit the castle and it's heritage. However, I was far more interested in taking photographs of the tourists than of the landmarks. Their expressions and their movement is what I aimed to capture. Each photograph explores specific characters and their involvement with other people or the landmark that they were looking at the time. This project is therefore less of an exploration of the fast pace tourist, who moves with the crowd. And more about the individual tourist, and his or her moment, action and train of thought. Capturing an image that focuses on the solitude and independence of being a tourist, but also managing the hassle of being in a busy place.
