I've been taking photos at the beach for about two years. At first I did portraits of people against water and sky. Then I did some pristine scenarios of people walking along the shore or sitting in chairs. Then all the clutter of the beach experience crowded in -- lost shoes, seagulls, coolers, snarled towels, leaning umbrellas, carts of all kinds, toys, canvas bags, clothing, soda cans, plastic buckets, seaweed, books and newspapers . . . It was beautiful.
