Uncommon Journey
Project info

Uncommon Journey is a celebration of our visual culture through the achievements of some of its major champions. The project mirrors Stephen Shore’s highly influential photography book, Uncommon Places, published by Aperture in 1982. The detailed captions of Shore's photographs, registering geographical names and dates, sparked my interest to revisit his trips to celebrate and appreciate his influence in what has become a photographic tradition. Using Google Street View I searched for all of those places and shot my findings with the camera, directly from the monitor screen, echoing Shore's seminal road trips with the ultimate visual navigation tool, Google Street View, two champions of photography. The whole Uncommon Journey project consists of 126 photographs.
