'Binary perspectives' is a collection of paired works that exhibit incongruous subjects, but when placed in the same field of view the similarity in lines, form, color, framing, meaning become apparent.
Each pair of images were taken within the same 24 hour period of time. They represent moments when I was traveling by boat and subsequently returning to land (and vice-vera).
While on water (e.g. on the ship), I often felt that I was in discovery mode. My eye was essentially traveling every corner of the water and ship for the right composition. This changed once I returned to land. The subject was the destination and consequently the focus of my photos. This self-created subliminal duality, was something I often noted when reviewing my images at the end of every trip.
