The Burren - A Portrait of the Fertile Rock
Project info

The Burren is a limestone karst landscape in the west of Ireland. The area combines an amazing landscape, a world famous flora (the Burren is the only place in the world where arctic, alpine and Mediterranian species grow side by side) , a rich heritage (the oldest monuments date back to the neolithic and prove that the Burren has been inhabited and farmed for many thousands of years) and communities that manage to make a living from the landscape (mainly through tourism and farming) while protecting and conserving the fragile environment of the Burren for the future.
In 2011 the Burren and the nearby Cliffs of Moher received the UNESCO recognized Geopark status and I had the pleasure of working on some commercial assignments for the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark.
Out of these assignments grew the idea for a book which eventually got endorsed by the Geopark. For the past three years I have been working on this project and what is now the official flagship book for the park is due out in autumn 2015.
