Theatre of Fear
My series Theatre of Fear is my personal visceral reaction upon visiting an abandoned war ruin. I reflect upon the desolated echoes of the place's past, and thereby I manufacture my own memories. The image becomes the memory: I become the photograph.
Theatre of Fear is the most recent of my Artifact-of-Place projects, which are visual essays of related images in a unified perceptual style, from a single geographical location. Artifact-of-Place does not attempt to generate a literal correspondence with the physical space, but rather to give a visual impression of the sensory space explored.
