Grethe Irene Einarsen works photo-based with images and installation. The works are in the borderland between the documentary and the staged photography. With the northern Norwegian landscape as a backdrop in her pictures, the human alienation is a recurrent theme. Einarsens themes deals with everyday issues as well as universal, existential questions.
Grethe Irene Einarsen majored in photography from the Art Academy in Bergen. After graduating she has based in Narvik, worked with exhibitions and commissions nationally and internationally. She was member of the chair in NNBK ( North Norwegian Art Accosiation) and was head of the jury in NNBK. She has attended juried exhibitions and received several scholarships, among other a State 3 -years working grant .
