Bread making was traditionnally a collective endeavour in the Swiss Alps. Nowadays, only a few mountain communities perpetuate the tradition. Once a year, a bread making festival takes places in La Luette village in the Valais region.
The festival provides a golden opportunity for young local residents and visitors to learn about traditional bakery. 69 pieces of bread were baked on that day. I returned home with one of them, and with a bunch of beautiful pictures, including those presented herewith.
