People of The Blood
Project info

Canada’s largest native reserve, the Blood Reserve of southern Alberta, established in 1880 is an arrow tip of land wedged between three rivers, the Belly, the Old Man and the St. Mary’s. It is a land of sweeping beauty…prairie vistas brought up short by the startling verticality of the Rocky Mountains just to the west.

The Reserve is home to the most powerful winds in the country. The place is suffused with a sense of mystery, spirituality and ritual. Crossing onto the reserve is crossing from one country into another, from the country of the dog into to the country of the wolf.
