Negotiating the City

For me ‘Negotiating the City’ became something quite personal. I drew from emotions and experiences I had as a child, experiencing the city only by night. Imagination would always get the best of me and turn empty alleys and streets into terrifying occurrences, I always felt kind of lost and a sense I didn’t belong within the city. Whilst creating these images I tried to capture this emotion by taking them in areas that triggered memories of these experiences. I used long exposures to cast a ghostly figure of a child into the image.
