Tokyo Paradise 2018
I was born and raised near to a Tokyo Tram stop. I lost my mother 4 years ago and capturing back streets for me has had a lot of crossover with that. Ever more so since redevelopments have begun to become increasingly obvious around Tokyo, starting from around the time of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake. Among all of this happening I would expect that my thoughts would tend to become negative but what I have found is that, for example, things like the view from a river embankment or a view of shopfronts that resemble the area I was brought up has helped ease my mind. While, for the moment, I can't avoid thinking of it as a vain, transient fate, by continuing to capture these back streets I hope to continue to be able to discover these spots of positivity in my mind.
