A Cat's Mind
I want these images to help us critique our ability to project ourselves, or our condition upon animal based images. As it is in our everyday lives, we tend to overlay an intelligence onto our pets that doesn't really exist. The adornments and physical details of each image are a manifestation of my own search for a state of being that appears hyper-natural to the species, outside of convention and in many cases, at the edges of our physical sphere of awareness. Nonetheless these projections color our memory, share bits of our humanity and explain a fictive behavior that grants familial inclusion. I think these portraits are more about us and perhaps these images are not merely cat pictures.
