Although Ballet, as a dance form, originated in Italy during the fifteenth century, it was in Russia that it flourished in the form of lavish concerts with graceful, flowing movements. Ballet in its classic form is created by the movement of the human body. It is theatrical – performed on a stage to an audience utilizing costumes, scenic design and lighting. It can tell a story or express a thought, concept or emotion. Ballet can be magical, exciting, provoking or disturbing. It has a certain rhythm, balance and symmetry. However, all this has already been well documented. My aim in this story is to explore what goes on behind the scene, behind the stage. How apparently normal girls, transform into white, elegant beauties. Just like on-stage, how team bonding, helping each other out, is the key to back-stage preparation.
